This talk will introduce the audience to available Eclipse technologies for writing extensible datacentric applications using Eclipse-RCP/EMF/CDO/. The talk explains how to:
- Make use of Eclipse databinding to reduce the amount of code needed to keep the model and ui in sync, in conjunction with EMF-Features like EditingDomain and much more
- Keep your application instances in sync with CDO
- Easily create their own observables for UI-Widget when no binding exists yet
- Use new databinding features introduced with Eclipse 3.4
- Add custom extension points to RCP-Applications
- Use new JFace-Viewer features introduced in 3.3 and 3.4
The demo code this talk is built around is already available to some extent (see Demo-Code) and a lot of this code is presented and explained in the talk.
This video was recorded at EclipseCon 2009.
