Introducing eFace: Develop RCP application on declarative UI programming

Yves Yang (Soyatec)

Abstract:

eFace provides a powerful declarative programming approach on top of SWT/JFace to develop Eclipse RCP applications. It integrates an extensible application markup language (XAML). This approach separates user interface and business logic. The main benefits of this solution are following:

  • Rapid and domain-oriented (User Experience) development
  • Cross-environment applications
  • Insulation from technology change
  • Ideal GUI component for MDD/MDA approach
There are two possibilities to develop a RCP application with eFace product: Eclipse RCP and eFace RCP. The first one uses Eclipse platform as Rich client infrastructure, eFace's view is just embedded in a view of Eclipse RCP. The second one relies on eFace rich client infrastructure,.
  1. Eclipse RCP
  2. eFace RCP
