Abstract:

CloudBees’ DEV@cloud service already provides the continuous integration capabilities of Jenkins as a Service in the cloud. With the introduction of the CloudBees Toolkit for Eclipse plug-in, DEV@cloud can be accessed directly from within the Eclipse IDE. Now Java developers can create and monitor Jenkins jobs running on-premise or in the cloud, without ever leaving the Eclipse environment. When the application is ready for deployment, one click deploys applications to CloudBees' secure RUN@cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS) for shared user testing, staging or production release. Through a simple wizard, developers can easily build starter applications to try out the full develop-to-deployment process in the cloud, and they can be up and running in minutes. The CloudBees Toolkit for Eclipse delivers the power of the CloudBees Platform inside Eclipse, bringing control of cloud-based Jenkins and application deployment directly into the integrated development environment (IDE) of choice for Java developers. Productivity is enhanced and teams are able to integrate software quality improvement processes into their day-to-day workflow.
