		<title>Rich AJAX Platform (RAP) Project</title>
		<link>http://live.eclipse.org/node/450</link>
		<description>

  Jochen Krause (Innoopract)

	Abstract:

	  The Eclipse Rich AJAX Platform (RAP) allows developers to create AJAX-enabled Web applications using the OSGi standard component model. The main advantage of this technology is the ability to share the same Java code base for RCP and RIA applications.

This webinar will teach you about RAP&#039;s building blocks and how they compare with RCP, and how RAP fits into the overall Eclipse runtime. Jochen will demo how you can quickly create AJAX Web applications using known Eclipse development methods.

Total running time 51:34 minutes

Thanks to Adobe for contributing their Adobe Acrobat Connect product to host this webinar.

		<title>First Look at Eclipse Rich Ajax Platform (RAP)</title>
		<link>http://live.eclipse.org/node/390</link>
		<description>

  Screencast Blog

	Abstract:

	  Eclipse Rich Ajax Platform (RAP) allows developers to create Rich Internet Applications (RIA) using the OSGi standard component model. The main advantage of this technology is the ability to share the same Java code base for RCP and RIA applications.

In this two-part screencast you are going to see RAP installation process, look and feel of the RAP 1.0 Demo application and creation of the simple RAP plugin:
1) Installation of the RAP 1.0 using the Eclipse Update Manager (01:15)
2) RAP 1.0 Demo application. Creation of the &quot;Hello world&quot; RAP plugin (02:15)

		<title>Innoopract on Eclipse, RAP, OSGi and Component Coding, Sponsored Development in Open Source</title>
		<link>http://live.eclipse.org/node/362</link>
		<description>

  Jochen Krause (Innoopract), Michael Coté (RedMonk)

	Abstract:

	  At the Eclipse Marketing Symposium, Coté had the chance to talk with Innoopract&#039;s Jochen Krause. They started talking about Innoopract&#039;s decision to move to Eclipse several years ago. At the moment, Innoopract is working with Eclipse on the Eclipse Rich Ajax Platform project, or RAP, which Jochen talks about. Then they move onto talking about the component-driven programming model that OSGi enables, along with several &quot;ah-ha moments&quot; for typical developers moving into that style of development. Finally, they talk more about Innoopract&#039;s business model, and drill a little deeper into the idea of &quot;sponsored development&quot; for open source projects.

Total running time 15:57 minutes
